Analysis of VOGUE magazine cover

                                 Vogue magazine analysis

Age-25-45
Gender-Female
Social economic groupings-ABC1

This is one of many editions of vogue sporting the famous face of Beyonce. The magazine itself is very popular with women. With this magazine you can see that the magazine is being aimed at women as the image of Beyonce appears which instantly persuades women knowing her superiority, to buy this magazine. Also with the cover lines one in-particular says 'strong and sexy suits' this instantly allows women to be intrigued to this magazine as to what exactly makes a amen strong and sexy and how to become this certain female type. This issue is also clearly seen as an empowerment to women which of cause would aim many women as well as Beyonce fans, with the cover lines such as 'QUEEN B! BEYONCE RULES THE WORLD' would obviously attract strong independent women which are also part of the audience VOGUE would want to appease as majority of independent women are self finical, therefore would be good economically.

Looking at the age aimed at you can see that it is obviously aimed at those who are driver by career as you would expect those with money to purchase it just by looking at the masthead which is VOGUE. You can clearly see who the age for VOGUE is used to appeal to a wide variety of people so as well as the age, it would also appeal to a audience of Beyonce which can range from 16+ or maybe even younger. Looking into the cover lines what would appeal to women of that age would be fashion etc; and also the majority of the cover lines are related to fashion. Looking at one of the certain cover lines it says 'Simple, Sleek Elegance' this would relate to those of that particular age as they would be wanted to look their best and elegant.

Then you have the social economic grouping, which obviously would be quite high up as VOGUE is known to promote expensive attire such as Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Dior etc. So this would apply to the group ABC1 all who are about or would want to purchase out of this book. Also as I said before this particular magazine is linked to more independent women, which represents those you are finically able to purchase what they would like. The way Beyonce is dressed it comes across very elegant to represent the magazine; this also shows how the magazine would be linked to those who are much higher up economically.

                                     CLASS

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/sep/11/benefits-street-culture-study-no-proof-joblessness-claim

benefits-street.jpgThe newspapers article I have founds generalising the under class. With no jobs and living off
benefits the article is basing the story in a negative lint talking about 'benefits street'. The street in Birmingham called straight turner is a well known benefit street and this article is trying to portray this in a very negative light. By ding this its created a ground for bad publicity meaning the whole of the United Kingdom is viewing this particular class in a disgusted way.

                                      Gender

In the show Geordie Shore its shows the women very badly represented. At the start of the clip we see one of the cast member with may men and this represents women in the a negative way. It make women feel and look very degraded int his clip showing how women are just sexual objects rather than actual people. It also allows men to think that all women are like that so they just take advantage. the content of the show represents women in a promiscuous manner, no only sexually but in the sense that throughout the shown they are showing the younger generation that drinking obscenely amount of alcohol is acceptable in young women. Also the men are appeared badly as they are represented as rogues and not really caring about the treatment of women, they just seem to see women as objects and this is how women are objectified.

                                          Age

In this film it gives a representation that the younger generation is very naive in the way they are brought up. The way the film goes is that a young girl around the age of 16 falls pregnant with her boyfriends fetes. The boyfriend appears very deluded in the sense he doesn't early quite know the impacts of this baby. However it is showing a negative press on the thought of teenage relationships saying that they will all end up like this. But it does give an aspect of adult hood and growing up so although at the stat it does give negative vibe near the end it give a positive aspect of teenagers and that we are capable of being responsible in situations. However this situation shouldn't be the case. She does give the baby up for adoption but overall its just shows the sexuality of a child as very un-educated and less careful which is also bad.

                                Race

This shows the black american in a negative light. it represents the average black person as a very 'ghetto' person. It gives them the representation that to many people would be worried. It represents the black people as criminal or under educated etc. also in certain episodes the clack society is targeted and put in a negative way resulting in people believing what the show is representing and causing controversy.

                             Sexuality

In this case the men are very much being shown in a sexual way. They're there for women's entertaining and nothing else rely. IT shows the men objectified which is very different as you are normally used to the women being objectified so in this case it give you an idea how anyone can be dis-respected throughout the media it doesn't have to be generalised on women. this film really does focus on men and how they can be put in a negative light through sexuality. It very degraded on a man be halve in this film all of their masculinity is portrayed through sexual way.
